Skinny pack: reducing weight of packaging by up to 40 percent

This new technique concerns a technical, worldwide patent under the name 'skinny-pack' whereby parts of the 0.45 mm thick walls are replaced by 0.25-0.30 mm thick film. At the same time, depending on the application, this film can be given other barrier properties. This concept offers alternative solutions to heavier and/or more expensive forms of packaging such as conventional injection-moulded packaging and also glass. Additional value can be added through barrier properties, mechanical sealing and/or the use of printed film.
