SFA Packaging BV achieved ISCC PLUS certification in March 2025. This milestone enables us to further shape our sustainable ambitions and use sustainable, renewable raw materials in addition to our familiar 'virgin polypropylene (PP)'. This is fully in line with our vision of innovation and responsibility in the food packaging sector.

What does ISCC PLUS mean?

The ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) certificate is a globally recognised system that guarantees the origin and traceability of sustainable raw materials. Thanks to this certification, we can now also process certified bio-based or recycled PP materials within our injection moulding production, without compromising on quality or food safety.

"For our customers, this means they can choose sustainable packaging solutions that meet the strictest standards - without compromising on performance."
- Marc van der Steen, quality assurance manager

Sustainability as an engine for innovation

At SFA Packaging, we work every day on solutions that contribute to a better environment, without compromising on quality, efficiency or food safety. With ISCC PLUS certification, we can now support customers even better in their sustainability goals - whether it's reducing CO₂ emissions, increasing reusability or strengthening their image as a responsible brand.

Towards a circular future

We do not see this certificate as an end point, but as an important intermediate step towards a circular packaging industry. In the coming period, we will explore with our customers how we can deploy sustainable PP variants in the most effective way, matching their product and brand strategy.

"We believe in taking concrete steps towards a circular economy. This certificate opens the door to the use of certified bio-based and circular materials in our production process."
- Alexander Heinsdijk, Business Development & Marketing Manager
