New spreading bus for Grozette spreading cheese

Grozette and SFA Packaging have successfully joined hands in the past period for the development of a new spreading can packaging for spreading cheese. The development of this new packaging is supportive of the introduction of the new Grozette logo, in which the shape and colour evoke the time of earlier enamel logos from the 19th century and appeal to the rich Dutch cheese history.

Starting points

For Grozette, a number of issues were paramount in this new development. The most important requirement was that the packaging had to consist of one type of material in order to market a 100% recyclable product. In addition, the sleeve of the existing packaging had to be replaced by an integrated label that retains its shape and appearance after the product is opened. Here, the dosage cap would have to have a "tamper-evident" closure, allowing consumers to see at a glance that the product had not yet been opened when purchased.

New logo and look

Underlying the new look is the introduction of a new logo. The new logo shows Grozette's rich Dutch cheese history. The shape and colour evokes the era of earlier enamel logos from the 19th century. Grozette was the first to bring spreading cheese to Dutch kitchens. With this restyle, the logo has once again become an accessible table icon. "Because of its round shape that exudes a discreet smile," says the logo's designer. From now on, Grozette's spreading cheese is no longer called Formaggio da Pasta, but Grozette Spreading Cheese. "We want to put something delicious on the table every day that you can enjoy. Spreading cheese from Grozette is the natural seasoning for every dish, made from real cheese and you can taste it!" The spreading cheese is suitable for pasta dishes, but also delicious over other dishes such as vegetables or stew. Grozette Spreading Cheese Classic is available in scatter cans of 175g and 80g.

The design

On the basis of the aforementioned principles, SFA Packaging has developed a canister that meets all the set conditions. Both the canister and the dosage cap as well as the printing (the InMould label) consist of the same material (polypropylene) whereby the complete packaging can be reduced to granules after use and serve as a basis for new plastic packaging. The sleeve is replaced by an InMould label that completely fuses with the canister during the production process. Due to its excellent print quality, IML forms the basis of the desired look where both the new logo and the displayed contents are even more prominent. The dispensing cap allows consumers to fine-tune the desired amount of cheese to the dish by using an ingenious two-valve system.
