Grozette spreaders: now even better!

The customer demand

Several years ago, Grozette and SFA Packaging successfully joined forces to develop a new spreader can packaging for spreading cheese. After its launch, this collaboration proved to be a significant contribution to the development of this product.

Both Grozette and SFA Packaging are both constantly looking for innovation and ways to optimise their packaging. For example, there was also a desire to improve the spreadability of the powdered cheese even more, with a modification to the current lid being suggested as a solution by SFA Packaging.

Clear principles

For Grozette, a number of things were paramount in this new development. The most important condition was that the modification to the packaging should not negatively affect the 100% recyclability of the product. It had to remain made of one type of material, thus ensuring the sustainable character of the packaging. In addition, the modification did not have to affect the production line and the boxes used to get the product intact on supermarket shelves. The "tamper-evident" feature, which allows consumers to see at a glance that the product has not yet been opened when purchased, also had to remain unchanged. In short, a nice challenge for a big improvement!

An innovative design

Based on the aforementioned principles, SFA Packaging has optimised the existing lid to meet all set conditions. The current dispensing lid, which consists of an ingenious two-valve system, allows consumers to match the desired amount of cheese to the dish in two ways. Firstly, through an opening consisting of five scatter holes and secondly, through one large opening. The latter has remained unchanged, but the opening with 5 holes has been changed to one with 3 larger holes.

The power of experience and expertise

Since 1963, Grozette B.V. has produced a range of spreadable cheese products for the food industry, foodservice and retail.
